Overview
Dr Deverill is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist, with a wealth of experience in the NHS and private hospitals, with expertise in all areas of psychiatry. She has special clinical interest in women’s mental health (including menopause and pregnancy), anxiety, depression, memory and attention problems, She is passionate about lifestyle and nutritional psychiatry and is prescriber of medicinal cannabis. Her moto is that health is not simply an absence of illness, but a state of wellbeing and content. Alongside more conventional approaches, using lifestyle psychiatry in practice places an emphasis on the management of stress, sleep, nutrition and physical activity in achieving mental well-being.

Training and Experience
Dr Deverill completed dual training in general adult and old age psychiatry in London, where she has been working as a consultant psychiatrist for nearly 20 years.
She has expertise in all areas of psychiatry. Her most recent NHS practice was based in a general hospital in West London where she saw patients presenting with a wide range of mental health problems, from acute psychosis ,alcohol/drugs withdrawal, eating disorders to psychological reaction to physical illness and physical symptoms resulting from stress.
Her research background and interests are in memory impairment, and she has significant expertise in the assessment and treatment of patients with memory problems and dementia.
Dr Deverill uses a holistic and individualized approach to the assessment and treatment of mental illness, and works in close partnership with her patients to help them achieve mental and physical well-being.
Additionally, she works as a Medical Expert for the Ministry of Justice, where she provides independent medical opinions for Tribunals. She is affiliated with the Imperial College School of Medicine as examiner for psychiatry.

For patients with private health insurance the cost of treatment may be covered by your health insurance provider, so you should contact them first to confirm. Dr Deverill is registered with and therefore accept patients with health cover from all of the major providers. Your insurer will usually need a referral letter from your GP.

Self-Funding
If you do not have private health insurance but would like to start your journey with Dr Deverill none-the-less, then as long as you have the means to self-fund Dr Deverill will be more than happy to set up your first appointment.
GP Referrals
GPs can refer directly to Dr Deverill either by post, confidential fax, email or phone. Patients will be assessed promptly, and you will receive a comprehensive assessment letter after your patient’s first appointment, with a proposed treatment plan for their recovery journey and further updates to their progress.
